A Little About Who I Am

Professionally:

I am a Veteran of the US Air Force and an alumnus of UC Santa Cruz, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Management Economics w/ an Accounting focus. Afterwards, I went back to school and also earned an Associates Degree in Spanish from Cabrillo College, mostly because I love learning languages!  Altogether, I bring 25 years of business and hospitality experience to the table.  My early work experience ranges from humbly working as a dishwasher at a busy café as a teenager to eventually managing a busy downtown restaurant here in Santa Cruz.  I've also been lucky enough to have an internship at a 5-Diamond hotel, which has taught me that customer experience is everything!

Since switching to accounting, I've held virtually every position in that field.  My most recent employment was as a financial analyst for a large food service company.  Coming from the financial world, I was responsible for many millions of other people's dollars, so honesty and trustworthiness are qualities that have been paramount to my career and as a person.  I always do my best to be as cheerful and helpful as possible!  Although I very much appreciate the common courtesies that I give returned in-kind, buying and/or selling a home is more about you and your needs than mine...my goal is merely to facilitate, offer experience, and help to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible!  With all of that being said, I hope that you'll choose me as your Realtor®!  My goal is to not only serve you well, but also all of the others that you will hopefully refer to me after our pleasant experience together!  A friend of yours is a friend of mine!

Personally:

Born and raised in Madison, New Jersey (essentially a suburb of Manhattan) until I was stationed at DLI in Monterey as a Serbian/Croatian linguist in 2002.  Growing-up,  I played some sports, but mainly I've always been more of a music guy.  I played drums in school from 5th-12 grade and also, at around 10 years old, picked-up guitar and bass along the way.  I've played in bands my entire life and it's pretty much at the core of who I am as a person.  For the past 4 years or so, I've been one of the main bassists at Twin Lakes Church (playing all 3 services, usually twice p/month), as well as quarterly Worship Nights, holiday programs, etc.  I also play bass in a country band called the Kelly McDonald Band, which takes me on a month-long tour each summer - we travel through states like Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota from late July to Aug.  If you'd like to see me performing some of my originals, among other performances, head over to my personal YouTube channel and/or like my music page on FB!

Besides music, I love to travel!!  So far, I've been to 47 states and 9 countries, with many more in-store, I'm sure!  Besides that, I love going to the gym, staying active, and going to the beach with my dog Lou (who pretty much goes everywhere with me).  I also have a cat too, so I don't discriminate.

Enough about me, though...I'd like to know more about you!!  Shoot me a text, email, or go old-school and give me a call (what a concept!)...I'd love to chat about who you are and how I can best help you meet your goals!

Warmest Regards!
